On my last Inspiration Sunday Post I got a comment with an awesome link from stumbleupon that showcased art inspired outfits from Polyvore. You can see the inspiration for this post HERE.
irishlass thought that it would be neat to see what my favorite art work is and what outfit inspiration I could get out of it. Great Idea! Thank you! I decided to create a couple of style boards displaying some of my favorite works of art and outfits that could be created out of them for this Inspiration Sunday. It's amazing how a piece of art can inspire so many different ideas from poetry, to home decor, to something as simple as an outfit. This project was a lot of fun!
This first style board was inspired by an all time favorite print of mine called "The Gatekeeper" By Shiela Wolk. My mom gave me a magnetic bookmark with this print on it for my 14th birthday. I've been in love with it ever since. I have my bookmark sticking in the glass pane door of my jewelry box. I can't wait to get a full sized print framed in oak and a matching throw with tassles. I saw one a couple years ago in one of those abcdistributing catalogs (I think) could've been any catalog of the like. Really neat though! Oh and the ring I found for this board! Isn't it beautiful? I want it so badly now! I adore it.
When I stayed over at my Grandma's house as a kid growing up; she'd play "Jesus Loves The Little Children" for me from a beautiful musical sculpture of Jesus and the Children. The tune and the music box always brought me so much comfort as a kid, as does the name Jesus now. I couldn't find the exact musical sculpture but this picture came really close to captivating the same feelings of peace, comfort, and content. I've always loved that music box. As a result, it's my inspiration for this style board.
As far back as I can remember I've had a thing for faeries and unicorns. When I was about 11, I found this picture online by Amy Brown. I love the care and adoration expressed between the couple in this painting and that's how I'd always envisioned my relationship to be if ever I were to have one. I'm married now to an amazing man and I know I "Always" will be. The outfit in this picture expresses happiness, love and adoration. I didn't include shoes because my love is free and there is something about being barefoot that's freeing.

P.S. e.l.f. update: I received an email from eyes lips face customer service regarding my broken nail polish and the whole crazy fiasco. They're shipping out a new nail polish and as an apology for the damage they've sent me a gift card for use on a future purchase. I have to say I'm really pleased with their prompt response and although a gift card won't fix my carpet it does make me feel a lot better. It's not like they purposefully conspired to stain my carpet lol. I'm thankful that they show appreciation for their customers. I'm loving their Super Glossy Lip Shines so far! I'll be reviewing and swatching stuff soon!
This is sooo pretty, I love the idea of Fashion from Artwork! xxx

Holly! I love this post! Thank you so much for doing this. I enjoyed reading about what each of the paintings have meant to you. One of the things I most like about the style boards, is how the outfits flow so flawlessly from the inspiration. My favorite is number two because it looks so comfortable and serene. Effortlessly cool. Congratulations on 50 followers!
