104 Degrees of Hot - Edgy Colorblocking

My Handbag and Shoes
Gateway Arch bag - Just Fab, Booties-UrbanOg
Today happened to be quite the adventure, well for a stay-at-home Mom anyway. I was feeling blah so I decided to change that and dress up for my man during naptime. About halfway through getting ready Brody woke up and decided he was hungry so I of course stopped getting ready and fed him. It wasn't even a minute after I sat down with him when there was a loud knock on the door and my dogs started barking up a storm. I swept up the baby and quickly answered the door before my fur creatures woke up the other kids, turns out it was the meter dude letting me know he was here so I wouldn't freak out. Well he couldn't find my meter so baby in tow I rounded up doggie biggest because she has something against men in uniform lil' miss snappy and then I proceeded to show him the location of my meter.

It was 104 degrees out and I was barefoot so I had to run back inside and slip on my flip-flops. Thank goodness I did because when I walked back out with the babe I shut the door and locked myself out of my house. I didn't realize until Mr. Meter Guy left and I went to go back in to wake the kiddos and feed them lunch and couldn't get the door open. Luckily I had my cell-phone in my hand because I've been addicted to it lately and well I'm cautious. I gave my husband a call, sat under the shade of the orange tree with the baby and waited to be rescued. We played the drums on my leg, found a good orange and ate it, got all sticky, and sang about baby making poo poo til Daddy finally pulled in and laughed at me for being me.

He said I looked hot and I said "well it's only in the triple digits right now" and he said "well that and you look good in that dress" so now I definitely plan on finding more ways to style this dress.

lots of hardware. I went for edgy, sexy, cute. Can't go wrong with spikes, studs, zippers, and girly colors!

Michael decided he wanted to be in the picture too, he ran over and quickly posed
Me laughing about Michael's perfect impromptu pose walk-in, he's so photogenic!

After the baby and I cooled down and rehydrated, Stephen and I rounded up the kids and went to the recycling center, came home ordered pizza hut, set up a TV and the old game cube in the oldest boy's new bedroom, taught them how to play Super Mario Strikers, let them rot their brains on video games for a bit while we threw together a quick date night in and watched "Season of the Witch" with Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman. Good Movie. Tomorrow, the library. You know you need other options to read to the kids when you've memorized everything in the house and believe me we have a lot of books. I need to find another Mom to swap with.

How did you spend your Thursday?

xoxo-
